Baudelot liquid coolers

This type of cooler is used for cooling fluid, usually process water temperatures close to freezing, usually in the range of 0.5C freezing point. In Baudelot cooler is designed so that it will not be damaged if the water freezes.

The usual type is water flowing in a thin film on the outside of refrigerant tubes or plates (see Fig. 11)and collected in a storage tank at the base. Several designs are used, or refrigerant coil wound of the pipe (and then galvanized)or vertically embossed stainless steel plates.
