Compression ratio is defined as the ratio of the discharge pressure suction pressure in the saturated, in absolute terms, for example. PA or kPa.

where KR is the compression ratio; Pd saturated discharge pressure, kPa; and Ps saturated suction pressure, kPa.

Performance compressor is influenced by a number of factors, including (Pita, 1984):

Frequency of rotation of the compressor,
Suction pressure
Suction temperature,
Discharge pressure, and
Type of refrigerant.
