Smell
Vapours and odours often constitute a considerable part of the atmospheric air pollution. Most odors and gases, and filters (even electrostatic) will not remove them. Some scents can be removed by cooling the gas for their condensation or freezing temperature. Some are removed by oxidation (and ultraviolet rays of treatment).
Others may be removed by combining them with other chemicals. They may be diluted with air, or absorbed into the liquid. They can also be adsorbed on solid. Both pairs and smells can be removed with activated carbon. Activated alumina with potassium permanganate is also used...
