Technical information Air-Conditioning High-Side Float (HSF)

The high Side Float (HSF)

To make the high side of the float system operate float is in a liquid tank-receiver, either in the chamber in the high-pressure side. Liquefied refrigerant collects in the float chamber. When a sufficient quantity of refrigerant collected, float will rise enough to open a needle valve.

Liquid flows into the low-pressure side and the evaporator. Float controls the level of the liquid refrigerant to the high-pressure side. The amount of refrigerant in the system must be carefully measured. Evaporator must obtain the correct number for the system to operate correctly. Additional refrigerant will overcharge evaporator and put the icing on the suction line.

Cm. Fig. 4-24 to illustrate the high side of the float mechanism. A more detailed description is given in Chapter 5. This refrigerant flow control can be used with either the pressure or temperature of the Opera Ted motor control.
