Operating costs and carbon footprint

Environmental impact powered equipment is under scrutiny and the cooling is no exception. Commercial and industrial refrigeration and air-conditioning consumes about 11% of all UK electricity (Maidment et al., 2007), and the figure is closer to 15% for domestic use is added. Improving the efficiency of potentially significant impact on reducing carbon emissions.

Currently, there is no definitive method for the calculation of carbon dioxide emissions in the cooling system, but this does not preclude the calculation of life carbon emissions using total Equivalent Warming Impact (TEWI) concept, as described in Section 3.4. The energy consumed in manufacturing and utilization is likely to be small compared with the energy consumption compared to traditional 15-year life and energy efficiency along with the diversion of global warming gases must take top priority when considering carbon footprint.

Several additional benefits of energy efficiency, including, at a reduced cost, less the consumption of primary energy, i.e.

gas, oil and coal, but these additional benefits depend on many different factors and can vary depending on the circumstances.

Reversible systems can be practical and capital cost-effective way to provide heating and cooling, on a seasonal basis, but this in itself does not guarantee the efficiency of energy use. This system's performance when working with the desired load, and that determines its effectiveness.
