Power Relays

One of the control devices in the power relay. This is one of the most frequently used controls for the management of the compressors for refrigeration and air conditioning. Power relay, also referred to as chief conductor. It is used to apply the main line voltage in the circuit of the motor. Relay coil usually is controlled by the voltage below the line provides. This means that it uses a transformer to a lower voltage control (see Fig. 14-1).

Magnetic contactors are typically used to run multi-phase motors or short-circuited rotor, or single phase. Contactors can be connected at any convenient point in the main chain between fuse and the engine. A small wire control (using low voltage) may be launched between the contactor and control points.
