Oil in Vacuum Pumps

Oil sight port "("sight glass") lets you see how the oil level and oil paints. This special oil should be replaced often because oil in single-stage pumps quickly becomes dirty when water and solvent vapours in the system. Water-in-oil will be:
  • Increase of a level of oil.
  • In turn, oil white foam. If it is dirty oil remains in the pump, the precipitate will form in the system. For good results, oil change before each pumping, or test pump with closed valves and vacuum sensor is connected. If the pump will not pull down to high vacuum, change the oil.
Connection (two-stage rotary pumps should oil change after about 10 pump-downs. Most of these pumps will pull a vacuum of 20 microns or better...
