Secondary Coolants
The air conditioner can be directly cooled in a heat exchanger (air handling unit) or through a secondary coolant. In most industrial applications, the final cooled object, as a rule, is cooled via the intermediate cooling liquid, such as water or water with anti-freeze agent (usually denoted as brines). The concentrations of anti-freeze agent affect the freezing point, as well as the intensity of heat. Fig. 2.19 shows the change in the freezing point of concentration anit-freeze agents of some commonly used anti-freeze solutions.
