Double-Effect Chiller

Double-effect chiller (Fig. 2.21) is very similar to the one effect hmm, except that it contains the additional generator, condenser and heat exchanger, which operate at higher temperatures than those for the one-cooling effect. The higher the temperature of the generator is called the first phase of the generator, the higher the temperature of the condenser is called the first stage of the condenser, and the higher the temperature of the heat exchanger called the high temperature heat exchanger.

The refrigerant vapour from the first stage generator are condensed in the first stage of the capacitor. The heat recovered from the condensate in this capacitor is used to boil an extra pair of refrigerant out of the refrigeration second phase generator. This additional refrigerant vapor generated increases the capacity of the evaporator same heat, resulting in improved efficiency. High temperature heat exchanger is used to recover heat from the concentrated lithium bromide solution from the first stage generator heat lithium bromide solution of the form in the second stage generator...
