One Effect Absorption chillers is about -10C have an efficiency of about 0.55, EER is about 1.9 and Specific Steam Consumption is approximately 10.2 kg/hour/TR, on the vapour pressure of 3 bar. At -40C, the COP falls to about 0.45.

The COP hmm being poor means that the load dumped on the condenser is very large. It should also be noted that the cooling water passes through both the absorber and the condenser. Therefore, any deficiency in the cooling system can affect the cooling capacity and efficiency of the machine.
Electric power consumption vapor absorption machine only about 2% in comparable vapor compression machine, except for power, cooling water consumption in the system. . It may also be noted that for the same heat load, the heat rejected the absorption machine is about 60% more than in the vapour compression machine, hence, power pumps cooling water consumption is likely to be much higher.
It should be noted that energy savings are large; however, the economy will depend on the cost of heat energy used in the absorption system.
To increase efficiency at partial load absorption chillers variable speed drive can be used to control the speed of a dilute solution of LiBr pump; this prevents unnecessary sensible heating surplus decision in the generator at low cooling load.
Lithium bromide will be supplied with inhibitors limit corrosion, but regular checks (e.g. once a year) chemical composition of the solution recommended. Slowly corrosion inhibited lithium bromide will produce non-condensable gases, which will cause a very gradual loss of vacuum. If the vacuum is degrading faster than producers expect, this can provide an early warning of corrosion that occurs.
