Technical information Air-Conditioning Pipe and pipe materials

Tube and pipe materials.

There are seven classification of pipe materials contained in the code:
  1. Water service pipes: This type of tubes can be made of asbestos cement, brass, cast iron, copper, plastic, zinced iron or steel.
  2. Water-distribution pipes: This type of pipes can be made of brass, copper, plastic or galvanized steel.
  3. Above-ground drainage and ventilation pipes: This type of pipes can be made of brass, cast iron, type K, L, M, or vers copper, galvanized steel or plastic.
  4. Underground drainage and ventilation pipes: This type of pipes can be made of brass, cast iron, type K, L, M, or vers copper, galvanized steel or plastic.
  5. Building sewer pipes: This type of tubes can be made of asbestos cement, bituminized fiber, cast iron, type K or L copper, concrete, plastic or ceramic clay.
  6. Building storm sewer pipes: This type of tubes can be made of asbestos cement, bituminized fiber, iron, concrete, type K, L, M, vers or copper, or ceramic tiles.
  7. Subsoil drainage pipe: This type of tubes can be made of asbestos cement, bituminized fiber, cast iron, plastic, styrene rubber, or ceramic clay.
More specific uses of piping for heating purposes are included in the following material.

Also be sure to review your knowledge insulation pipes.

Insulation

Isolation is necessary to prevent penetration of heat through the wall or a hole for air cooled space. There are several insulation materials such as wood, plastic, concrete, bricks. Everyone has their application. However, more effective materials are continuously updated and available.

Hull Insulation

Vascocel is extended, closed-cell foam rubber made in a solid sheet of 36 inches in width. It comes in a wide thickness range: (3/8, 1/2, and 3/4 inch). This material is intended primarily for insulation of large-size pipes, large tanks and vessels, and other similar medium and low temperature areas. Because of its availability on the material in rolls, this material lends itself perfectly for use at high air ducts and irregular shape.

This material is similar to its companion product, Vascocel tube. This can be reduced, and worked with ordinary hand tools, such as scissors or a knife. Sheet stock easily applied to clean, dry surface with the help of glue. (See Fig. 4.1.) K-factor (K-value) of this material is 0.23. This has several advantages over other materials: it is resistant to penetration of water, water absorption, and physical abrasion...
