Technical information Industrial Crankcase Piping For Proper Lubricant Return To Parallel Compressors

Carter Pipelines For Correct Lubrication Return To The Parallel Compressors

When two or more compressors, operating in parallel, using common suction line, it is very unlikely that the return of oil will be evenly distributed between the crankcase. It is also unlikely that the same amount of oil, the leaves of each of compressors, even if diey are both in design and size. For these reasons, it is necessary to unite crankcases parallel compressors by means of tubes installed in ports located above and below the oil level in the crankcase. For this to be a passive strategy work, compressors must be installed on the die frame, so that their facades permits proper oil level to be achieved in their housings. In applications where multiple compressors die same design is used, the height from the floor will be equal.

High ports in the housings are necessary for leveling the differences between the pressure in the crankcase. If these crankcase oil alignment of pipes have not been installed, compressor widi higher pressure in the crankcase will insist produced in other compressors.

Oil equalizer pipes are installed below the level of the lubricant in crankcase and allow grease to seek the same level and in each Department. These pipelines configuration, called manifolds. Collector is a tube having a few side entrances or of pipes or other components. The crankcase oil align the pipes should be forwarded on its crankcase below valves steam to prevent entry through one of the ports. Since steam is compressed, it will generate the differences between the levels of oil in the crankcase.

Height pressure equalization line (tube top) should not be set so that it falls below the level Carter, fittings. This setting strategy prevents the liquid trap is generated in the pipes, which would ban die stabilize pressure in all crankcases. Oil alignment and alignment crankcase pressure pipes should be the same diameter as their crankcase valve to minimise the pressure falls. Manual shut-off valves should be installed in pipelines manifolds to allow the isolation of the individual compressors for maintenance or repairs.

In some parallel compressors, one oil equalizer line can be used between the carters place in the top and bottom of pipelines manifolds described earlier. In this design, the large-diameter pipes, which allows oil and crankcase pressure to equalize freely between the compressors. Tlie spacer centre equalizer pipe is located in die desired level of oil in the crankcase. This pipe should remain at the same level, so that oil flows equally among the compressors.

Oil level controls can also be used to justify the level of lubrication among several parallel compressors. These systems include grease separator for removal die die oil from the gas injection. Grease collected and transferred to the oil receiver or reservoir. As the oil passes from the separator reservoir, its pressure should be decreased with discharge pressure up to a value that is slightly higher than die crankcase pressure. This is achieved by allowing die refrigerant dissolved in boiling oil and to be drawn into the die intake manifold through a vent. Pressure die oil reservoir is maintained slightly above the intake manifold pressure by means of differential-return valve. The oil reservoir is a source of low pressure (grease on the individual level controls mounted on each compressor crankcase. The level of control on each compressor meters lubrication in the appropriate Carter as needed. This design has a disadvantage compared with EQ pipelines strategy. Oil can be added to the crankcase when the level is low, but they can not convey the oil other crankcases, when its level is too high...
