Oil Check Valve

Oil check valve can also be used to reduce foaming of the oil and loss of oil from the crankcase when starting the compressor. This device is installed in the oil passage between the suction pipe of the compressor crankcase. Oil, leaves die compressor oils mixed refrigerants is returned to the compressor widi suction pair. During normal operation cycle, crankcase pressure is slightly higher than the suction pressure due to a blow-by the piston. Small fluctuations in the suction pressure created by the regulation of the activities of the metering device provide differential pressure necessaiy cause oil to die through a check valve in the sump.

Suction chamber of the compressor is designed so that it is large enough to serve as a reservoir for all the oil that returns to tne compressor during die, that the crankcase pressure is too high to let the oil drain in die Carter.

When the compressor cycles, do not pour oil in the crankcase oil through the non-return valve until the pressure is reduced and is the suction pressure. Small diameter bleed pipe allows crankcase pressure and suction pressure gradually levelled. This bleed port is also used to remove the cylinder breakthrough pair back to the suction side of the compressor. If breakthrough pair were not thrown into the suction side, die crankcase pressure eventually build up pressure relief. This scenario would prevent the oil from returning to the crankcase and increase the capacity of the compressor.
