Remove Compressors

When the compressor should be removed, perform the following procedure:
  1. Install the sensor header, as shown in Fig. 15-51.
  2. Carefully leak testing. Note to connect to E for securing the pump vacuum collector. Discovery has Schrader valve. This closes the hole if depressor connected to the opening. It is used for purging or charging.
  3. Turn the valve on suction D, cutting off sucrion line.
  4. Commissioning of the compressor. Let it run for only a moment, to prevent oil pumping. (The oil in the crankcase can bubble vigorously as a refrigerant boils.) Pumping of oil should be avoided. It is indicated by a banging noise compressor.
  5. After starting and stopping the unit two or three times, and, finally, you can run continuously. Keeping it running for a few minutes after constant vacuum is reached on the suction sensor.
  6. Stop the compressor. Open two combs and (Fig. 15-51). Tin allows high vapour pressure build up pressure in the crankcase of the compressor 0 kPa (14.7 psi or 101.3 kPa).

    Then turn discharge service valve stem in.
  7. Some technicians cracks foot valve, D, until the connection sensor reads 0 to 1 psi. (The pressure is equalized.) Off the power and lock switch to the unlock position. Close dies,
  8. The joints must be cleaned with a grease solvent and dry before the opening. Open the suction service and discharge valves of the compressor. Do not remove the suction and discharge lines from the service of the compressor valves. Cooling system with manifold installed. InCollector low side of the valve. -Manifold high side of the valve. FCollector cleansing and charging connection. the holes through which the refrigerant flows through dry rubber, traffic jams tube or tape. Disconnect the bolts that hold the compressor base and remove the belt. The compressor is ready now to delete.
The oil should be immediately drained and compressor refrigerant to plug the holes. They are the best for plugging holes. Do not use the old oil if it faded. Keep the crankshaft seal from abuse, never rest of the compressor on the weight of the flywheel. Always place the compressor unit, so that the flywheel free.

If possible, remove the flywheel before removing compressor. Any undue strain on the flywheel can injure a cranked shaft and crankshaft seal. The handwheel can be solved with the universal flywheel puller. A little heat to the handwheel hub helps while the stripper is drawn comfortable.

Removing compressor with a large block is a problem because the compressor weight. When lifting a compressor avoid deformations caused by assuming that in an awkward position. Be careful not to slip on oil or available funds. Carts and small hydraulic lifts available to move heavy compressor.
