Filter-driers are often installed in the suction line eliminates the penetration of foreign particles from entering the compressor. Particles of more than 5 microns, as well as acids, sludge, dust, moisture, and also not allowed into the compressor. Mesh filters (screens) are usually made of Monel metal.
