Riser Valves
Riser valve another type shut-off valve. This manual control with three holes for refrigerant lines that can be connected. Two holes in correspondence with each other on different sides of the valve. The third little closer to the valve with actuator, at right angles to the other two holes.
Turning the hand valve closes the hole at a right angle to the other two. This permits the construction and installation of the valve or in a liquid and suction line. The technician can then connect the other evaporator. This may be cut off from the rest of the system. To do this, the valve is turned all the way-Fig. 13-148 shows multiple installation using two liquid line riser valves. Two suction line riser valves are also used.
Service valves are usually made of wrought copper, reduce leakage through the valve. The valve can be as brass or steel. Valves can also be packless type. They use the bellows or diaphragm as a sealing device, not the package. Some valves own living room. This means that the valve is easily sit down again to press the valve stem in the saddle.
