Motor Control

Two main types of engine controls used in refrigerating equipment: thermostatic and pressure. Commercial systems, thermostatic and pressure motor controls are the same as control components used in domestic refrigerators. Large systems use magnetic contactors controlled by the engine management.

A few of the evaporator commercial work, pressure of motor control are used quite often, because:

  • The low-pressure side is the temperature readout in the factory.
  • One control works regardless of the number of evaporators connected to it.
Controls provide both range and differential corrections. Fig. 13-86 shows the internal construction of such control.

When more powerful engines beginning of the current draw is more than the output contacts can handle. The engine starter need for single-phase AC motors for 1 hp. Three-phase AC motors, also require a starter. Engine management controls the relay of a starter. Electrical work must be performed by a qualified electrician, the work must comply with local electrical codes. Fig. 13-87 lists the recommended medium pressure motor control parameters. As temperature control and detrost control appears.
