Absorption Cooling Systems.Basic ARSs

It is believed that ARS is similar to the vapor-compression refrigeration cycle (through the evaporator, condenser and throttling valve, as the main vapor-compression refrigeration cycle), except that the compressor vapour compression system is replaced by three main elements, extractor hood, solution pump and generator. Three steps, absorption, pumping solution, and a pair of release, in ARS.

On Fig. 3.46, the main ARS, which consists of an evaporator, condenser, generator, extractor hood, decision pump, and two valves control, shown schematically in the figure. A strong solution (mixture of strong in refrigerant), which consists of refrigerant and absorbent, heated high pressure part of the system (generator). This leads to vapour refrigerant off solution. Hot refrigerant vapor is cooled in a refrigerator until it condenses. Then, the refrigerant fluid passes through the control valve in the pressure part of the system, the evaporator. Pressure reduction through this valve facilitates evaporation of the coolant, which ultimately effects of dissipation of heat from the average.

After the evaporator, the cold refrigerant enters the absorber and is absorbed by a weak solution of (i.e. absorbent), due to strong chemical affinity to each other. It is important to note that the system is under a high vacuum evaporator pressure of about 1.0 kPa; the generator and the capacitor employs approximately 10.0 kPa.
