Solar Cooling

Developing worldwide shortage of oil emphasizes the need for alternative ion sources, which are inexpensive and clean. There is a great interest and high potential use of renewable sources of energy, starting with the energy crisis in the 1970s. Over the last few decades, increased efforts, based on research and development was focused on the use of renewable energy, for example. solar, wind, tides and waves, biogas, geothermal energy, hydropower, hydrogen energy. Among these sources of solar energy for refrigeration applications are very popular, because this is a direct and easy to use renewable energy sources and continuous, is of the same quality, is safe and free, and is environmentally friendly.

A continuous flow of solar energy on the surface of the earth is equal to a power of about 100,000 TW. About one third of the radiation incident on the earth field and gained less than 2 hours should be enough to satisfy the entire primary energy demand per person, for a period of 1 year (Dincer, 1997). More than 25% of all energy in the world is spent on heating and cooling of buildings and hot water supply.
