Talk Relay Type

Current relay type most often used with a small compressors for refrigeration up to 1 HP uses of force motor compressor relay coil attracts anchor relay up. This leads overcoming contact and static contact to intervene (see Fig. 7-30). It energizes motor start winding. When the compressor motor reaches the speed of running engines primary winding current is such that the relay is de-energized solenoid. This allows the relay contacts open, which disconnects the motor start winding.

One thing to remember about this type of relay its installation. It should be set to true vertical position so that the valve and adjustment of contacts to fall free when the electromagnetic relay is de-energized.
