Refrigerating Systems. Spiral compressors

Scroll compressor (Fig. 3.12) uses one stationary (fixed) and one orbit select the compression of the refrigerant vapor, from evaporator to capacitor refrigerant path. The upper scroll stationary and contains refrigerant gas discharge port. The bottom scroll bar moves electric motor shaft Assembly telling eccentric or orbital motion managed to scroll. That is the motor shaft rotation causes the scroll orbit (not rotating) on the shaft centre.

This orbital motion collects refrigerant vapors of perimeter pockets refrigerant gas, and compresses it as the orbit continues. Trapped in the pocket of work gradually to the center of the fixed scroll and goes through the port of discharge. The maximum level of compression is achieved by pocket reaches the center, where the discharge outlet is located. This occurs after three full turns.

Compression is a continuous process. When the gas is compressed in the second orbit, another volume of gas arrives in the scrolls and the amount of gas will be discharged at the same time. This allows a smooth process of compression of low-noise vibration compared with other compression technologies. Studying this period of time a series of carefully gives a true picture of how trapped gases are gradually shrink, as they move to the port of discharge.

Spiral compressors - a relatively recent compressor development and are expected to eventually replace piston compressors in many cooling system applications, where they often achieve higher efficiency and better part load performance and operating characteristics.
