Fig. 5. (page 7) shows typical characteristics of the compressor. He shows how the capacity and power to fluctuate in the range of temperatures of evaporation and condensation. This can also be presented in Fig. 17 and COP data.
Data are presented in specific suction and liquid conditions (rating point). They rarely correspond to the conditions of the real system, so the correction factors should be used to calculate the exact output and power consumption for a particular application. Computer software compressor suppliers makes this easier.
When comparing different compressors, rating conditions shall be the same. To make an accurate comparison of the performance of various compressors the most common operating conditions that the system will work in must be used is rarely 'design' condition.
